Coffee Shop: Sonder Coffee & Tea in Denver

I decided to start the coffee shop reviews on my blog with a new-ish cafe in Denver, called Sonder Coffee and Tea. Why this particular cafe? Hmm… don’t know! It just so happened. There are a lot of coffee shops in Denver. Some days it’s just plain difficult to choose which one to go to. I usually start with asking myself why I am going to a coffee shop. Depending on the answer, I choose the cafe of the day. And just in case you are wondering what other purpose I may have for going to a coffee shop other than drinking coffee (or tea, in my case), then here I have a blog post┬álisting 10 reasons why I may go to a cafe on any given day.

Good for:

Couple of weeks ago I went to Sonder Coffee and Tea because from the pictures I had seen on Instagram, I thought it could be a good place for me to go and get some studies done; which is what I had intended to do that day. And I happened to be right! Sonder is a small-ish cafe, and they do not have lot of food items, except some cookies, croissants and macarons to munch on if you get hungry while working or studying. It’s also filled with small tables and one long table, and this helps if you want to just sit and study/work for a couple of hours without being distracted too much. There’s also a long couch if you want to give your butt a bit of rest occasionally.

Hospitality:

I think what I truly liked was the attitude of the baristas. In my opinion, half the charm of a coffee shop is its baristas. A good barista makes a cafe, and a not so good one breaks it, not the cafe I mean, the experience čÖé The two I encountered at Sonder were just so nice and friendly, that I felt at home right away, even though it was my first time there.

Refreshments:

As for the usual chai latte with soy, it was fine. It wasn’t extra-ordinary (it hardly ever is, I find it very hard to find the perfect soy chai latte anywhere!) but it was good enough for me to go back and order soy chai latte again. I did not try any of their croissants but they looked delicious! I’m thinking of ordering one on my next visit. It is a fine coffee shop and perfect for studying or writing; already thinking of going back there.
